This cosy, comfortable apartment offers a relaxing rural retreat ideal for walkers, cyclist or nature lovers as it sits night on The Pennine Way, Coast to Coast route and is set in the heart of the North Pennines National Landscapes area.
Once you arrive, walk up the charming, traditional stone steps you find your self in a stylish open-plan living area, with a plush 2 seater sofa, in front of a warm, welcoming log-burning fire. The fully equipped kitchen, with seating for 2, has everything you need for delicious home cooked meals. Unless of course, you find the local pubs too enticing. The double bed has an excellent view of the log burning stove allowing warmth and relaxation while drifting into a peaceful sleep even on the coldest of evenings. This delightful apartment has a separate, stylish modern shower room.

A new walk is being created in the autumn of 2026 by Westmoreland and Furness council which starts (or ends) in Alston. This exciting new addition will take 17 days to fully complete, or can be divided into 6 sections:
section 1 (16 miles) : Alston to Milburn (over the Pennines) will take an estimate 1-2 days.
section 2 (23 miles) : Milburn to Kirby Stephens (following the Eden) will take an estimate 2-3 days.
section 3 (16 miles) : Kirby Stephens to Sedbergh (exploring the Dales and Howgills) will take an estimate 1-3 days.
section 4 (27 miles) : Sedbergh to Bowness (from the Dales to the Lakes) will take an estimate 2-4 days.
section 5 (21miles) : Bowness to Ulverston (through the Furness woodlands and foothills) will take an estimate 1-3 days.
section 6 (17 miles) : Ulverston to Furness Abby (Along the Furness coast) will take an estimate 1-2 days.
