Hedgehog's Hideaway is a Pennine Ways Holiday Cottage. Enjoy this spacious cottage for 2, tucked away in rural Nenthead, set in the North Pennine AONB. An ideal location for a peaceful retreat with plenty of walks with magnificent views right on your doorstep. This cottage is the perfect central location to the Lake District, Newcastle, Durham to name just a few.

Enter the cottage through the annex porch, giving you plenty of space to store your walking gear. Into the open plan living area with cosy sitting room giving you plenty to do, with an array of games, books and DVD's to choose from. There are extra blankets in the coffee table so you really can snuggle down for the evening and enjoy some well deserved R&R.
The kitchen is fully equipped with oven and hob, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, dining table and spectacular views over the rolling countryside.
Upstairs you will find a comfortable double bed and adjoining bathroom with bath. Shower room on the ground floor.

Pets Welcome - Maximum of 1 dog - The property does also give you access to 4 acres of land but please note that this land is often used for livestock and therefore dogs must stay on leads at all times. As there is no charge for your dog but please be respectful of our cottage, do not let you dog on the furniture and beds and please pick up outside. Many thanks
Local Information
Just a 2 minute walk down the public footpath, you will find Nenthead Mines, the village shop/post office and children's play park.
Alston is the highest market town in England and boast good local amenities. It has many independent shops, eateries, cafes and pubs, including Saddlers Baker which makes fresh bread and baked goods from scratch, Alston House which serves delicious home cooked meals made using locally sourced produce and the Cane workshop which sells award winning Jams and Chutneys. From the outdoor clothing shop, where you can stock up on supplies to the fish and chip shop where you can grab a tasty treat, there is plenty to do in Alston.
The area is close to the borders of Durham, Northumberland and is a gateway into the Lake District making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Killhope Lead Mining Museum, the South Tyne Railway and Yad Moss Ski Slope are some amazing local attraction to name just a few. For those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling, the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Route runs right through Alston. The rolling countryside with unspoiled panoramic views of moorland is home to an abundance of wildlife and some amazing natural beauties including Ashgill waterfall.
