Leazes Garth is just a seven-minute drive from the historic village of Allendale (and a twenty-minute drive from Hexham and Alston) so has all the benefits of a rural holiday while still having all the luxuries of an urban life.

For anyone wanting a taste of the history of the area there are many options at your doorstep. Walks along the Hadrian's wall sites and guided walks, Roman forts such as Vindolanda, House Steads and the Sill plus there are historic sites including Nenthead Mines and the South Tynedale Railway.. There are a plethora of walking and cycling routes including Isaac's Tea Trail and if you're really lucky you will see a red squirrel. They are now an endangered species and only living in some parts of the UK.
Within the vibrant village of Allendale, there are many festivals to attend such as the New Yeats Eve Tar Bar'l Festival (since 1858), the May fair and the Folk Festival. After day of exploring the many local wonders, you can relax in one of the welcoming pubs, cafes and look around the independent shops.
Due to its border location, Cumbria, Northumberland, and Durham are within easy reach, making this an ideal base to get out and explore this National Landscape.
